Blackbird Technologies has settled a patent infringement lawsuit related to secure transactions.
Blackbird Technologies filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Capital One Financial Corporation in July 2017 in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware (17-cv-00911). Three patents were asserted — US Patent No. 7,958,214, US Patent No. 8,285,832 and US Patent No. 9,424,848. All three patents relate to methods for securely authorizing online transactions. Last month, Blackbird Technologies settled the case against Capital One.
Wendy Verlander, President and CEO of Blackbird Technologies, stated, “This is another example of technology invented by a small company that has become fundamental to the industry it serves. It is very gratifying to help these companies benefit from their inventions.”
