Check in with Brad Sheafe, Chief Intellectual Property Officer (CIPO) and David Pridham, CEO of Dominion Harbor, respectively. They were on a bit of a break as they were trotting around the globe closing very large patent transactions with international companies. 2017 was a record year for patent licensing for Dominion Harbor and Q1 2018 shows no signs of slowing down either.
On today’s IP…Frequently episode Brad and David take on the debacle that is Facebook and the fact that they have now allowed more that 87 million of their users’ date to be bought and exploited by politically driven data firms such as Cambridge Analytica. Mark Zuckerberg was trotted out before Congress this past week were he was grilled by the House and Senate on Facebook’s role in allowing third party firms to nefariously exploit users’ data. By and large he did an ok job with the grilling but only time will tell if he and his firm can deliver on the promises of change that were committed.
